Facilities Maintenance Technician

ATCO's Australian operations are headquartered in Perth, Western Australia and specialise in creating innovative, customer-focused energy and infrastructure solutions. ATCO owns and operates Western Australia's largest gas distribution network, with over 800,000 connection points and 14,500km of pipelines.We have an exciting opportunity for keen candidates interested in learning the nuts and bolts of maintaining ATCO fixed facilities all over Perth. You will join our specialised Facilities Maintenance Team as a Field Technician from our Jandakot depot.What You Will Do:Carry out maintenance and construction tasks on the gas distribution network, including valves and end-of-line facilities (e.g. meter sets, regulator sets, pressure reduction stations), aligned with our Asset Management Plan and capital works program.Collect gas samples for odorant and compositional analysis across the network to ensure safety and compliance.Conduct leak testing, valve isolation, purging, depressurisation, and venting to support safe and efficient maintenance of pipelines, systems, and equipment.Operate machinery, tools, and equipment in line with company policies and safety procedures.Inspect external gas distribution assets, reporting any issues related to corrosion, integrity, performance, or functionality in accordance with company protocols.Participate in the Facilities Maintenance team's 24/7 On-Call Roster, with a minimum commitment of 6 weeks per year.Exposure & ExperienceQualifications:Hold a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Qualified Mechanical Fitter) preferred.Background:Experienced maintenance technician in utilities or production, skilled in pipework assembly, inspections, and troubleshooting.Basic understanding of gas flow dynamics and plant operations is a plus, but not essential.Familiar with permit-to-work systems.Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.Holds current First Aid, White Card, Confined Spaces and Basic Worksite Traffic Management certifications (highly desirable)Current C Class Drivers LicenceWhat We OfferAccess to additional purchased leaveSalary sacrifice optionsEmployee Share Purchase PlanAccess to corporate discounts, including health insurance, banking and fitness clubs.Become a member of the Energy West Social ClubATCO fosters an inclusive workplace culture where everyone is treated fairly and respectfully.
